Immortal Jeep
Jeep company was found in 1940 when first prototypes were made. In 1986 it was taken over by Chrysler and in 1998 by DaimlerChrysler. Primarily army vehicles found way to a civil sector and this was the beginning of real Jeeps.
This is the year 2006 and Jeep Grand Cherokee - the distinct leader with elements from luxurious limousines and features of legendary Jeep. An elegant interior, dynamic exterior and no small performance – these are the signs of this giant suitable on a road and also in a forest. It’s available in 4 basic models – Laredo, Limited, Overland and SRT8.
3 types of engines are installed in Jeep Grand Cherokee; the most powerful is 5.7 liter V8 HEMI engine with a maximum output of 326 hp/240kW and maximum torque of 500Nm at 4000rpm. A top speed is 208 kmph and 0-100 kmph acceleration takes 7.4 seconds.
A stylish design with an aggressive front grill, oval headlights and extended mudguards are proofs that you made a good deal and invested in a quality and prestige of American classics.
JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT8
And what means an abbreviation SRT (e.g. also Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe)? SRT is a division cooperating with a Chrysler concern and it modifies stock vehicles of this company. But it’s not tuning, because these SRT versions are also placed to stock productions. Most known cars are Dodge Ram SRT10, Dodge Charger SRT8 and Chrysler 300C SRT8. SRT means a great performance, better safety and sporting look of exterior and interior.
Its newest “friend“ is the fastest Jeep in the world called Grand Cherokee SRT8 – an improved version of classic Grand Cherokee.
Its most characteristic element is an engine. An original 5.7 liter V8 HEMI was expanded to 6.1 liter and now its final output 433 hp/381kW and maximum torque at 4800 rpm is 569Nm. 0-100kmph acceleration is done under 5 seconds what means BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne Turbo have no chance. And top speed? 250kmph. These are impressive values when we regard on a size of Grand Cherokee. Don’t ask about a fuel economy.
A deceleration is provided by premium Brembo four-piston aluminum calipers that bite onto 360-millimeter vented front and 350-millimeter vented rear discs for a supercar-like 60–0 mph stopping performance of approximately 68m.
And relate to design modifications – a new lower front bumper, sill extensions, modified rear diffuser with the dual center-mounted 4-inch exhaust tips, bigger rims, harder suspension etc.

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT8 TUNED BY KOENIGSEDER

Analogous to other cars, it was only a matter of time when some tuning company gave an indication. The Austrian Koenigseder would like to make a sporting car but with its original function. It knows it’s a SUV and off-road for rough terrain. So the changes made on this car aren’t so much distinctive.
A major attribute is an aggressive black paint work with 24“ chromed rims booted in low-profile tires. The wheels are hidden under extended mudguards that are even more expressive as in a stock SRT8. The mudguards have also openings for an air circulation nearby brakes. They’re also filled with a perforated sheet to be in tune with chromed moldings on the chassis (front bumper, doors and trunk)
You can’t miss dark tinted Windows and “F1 style“ rear sporting wing. Other sporting elements such as Brembo brakes, sporting leather seats, sill extensions are unchanged.
