Mercedes-Benz SLK is continuation of tradition of small luxurious convertibles, which has been started in 1954 by model Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (W121). You certainly know this SL, it has gained lot of success. It is logical, if we consider that it was really unique not just with its design, but also with driving properties, which by far surpassed that period’s average. Well, not every car was able to accelerate to 100 kph in 14.5 seconds that time. Since May 1955 to February 1963 25881 pieces of SL roadsters were manufactured, but then the production ceased. The car maker Mercedes-Benz continued with this tradition in 1996 with new Mercedes-Benz SLK (R170) that has been introduced on Torino motor show. Four years later, we could admire new facelift and in 2004, the another version of SLK was introduced.
In design of this new model were implemented features known from F1 circuits. The overall look reflects sporting and elegant character of this vehicle.
Nicely shaped details, as for example distinctive tip of the front part, wing-profiles in the front grill and duplex exhaust system – these features clearly indicate, that SLK belongs to family of cars with rich sport tradition.
Thanks to long-time research of aerodynamics, Mercedes SLK has the lowest value of aerodynamic friction coefficient among all roadsters. Ordinary unconcerned man would say, that this car is perfect, that nothing can be done better. But of course, tuners know best. And so do guys in Rieger.
They rebuilt big bear to „chick“. They didn’t make any kid stuff, bear’s strength remained untouched – one really predacious and aggressive chicken was made.

If you look at our “chicken“ from side, you’ll see massive side sills in traditional Rieger design. The side of the car wasn’t changed very much. However, we can find lots of changes in the rear part. Rieger added bottom part on the decent SLK’s rear bumper.
This is distinctive with a pair of wide, slim openings – from the left one robust duplex exhaust tip sticks out. Moreover, on the rear hood, there’s decent spoiler.
Furthermore, customer may choose from among variety of alloy wheel types. Mostly, these are beautiful chromium wheels. As a matter of fact, these fit luxurious Mercedes the best, don’t they? One more surprise is waiting for you after you open the door. Like every tough chick also this has powerful wings – vertical doors (LSD). Maybe you are still asking, why I call this car “chick“ – it is because of the saturate yellow paintwork. I think that this fits well to this modified Mercedes. At least it strikes the bystanders’ eyes.
