There aren’t many cars and super cars in the world comparable with Mercedes SLR. Maybe only some exotics such as Ferrari Enzo, McLaren F1 or a Swedish racing special Konigsegg. And what next? Maybe Pagani Zonda. So why the reputable tuner as Brabus definitely is wants to take the stock SLR and make the vehicle more exclusive and perfect? It’s really possible? The answer for this question could be find on the Geneva motor show.
So what’s improved?
It’s obvious, that also the stock version doesn’t offer many attributes for some improvements and performance enhancements. Brabus guys have installed a new fuel cooling system, new camshafts and full-opened exhaust system authorized to use only on the track. So now the SLR machine has 660hp (instead of 626hp), 100km/h is reached only in 3.6 seconds (3,8 seconds in case of the stock). Its top speed is 340 km/h (6kmph more). Maybe it doesn’t look like very dramatic, but every proper tuner knows that in this case there’s no much space to work.
Pictures of Mercedes SLR tuning:
Brabus cars look excellent, so this vehicle isn’t an exception. Visual changes made on this car aren’t only for a better look, but they improve aerodynamic properties. The front spoiler is made of carbon and creates more pressure on the front-axle. The rear part is stabilized with a diffuser. The power is transferred on the track by high-performance tires ( 255/30 ZR20 and 305/25 ZR20). The multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock VI 20-inch light-alloy wheels with six double spokes command immediate attention. The fully polished wheels in size 9.5Jx20 in front and in size 11.5Jx20 on the rear axle fill out the available space below the wheel arches perfectly.
BRABUS also adds new sporty and exclusive highlights in the interior. The company-own upholstery shop created a BRABUS interior from an exclusive black and red combination of leather and Alcantara, perfectly crafted down to the last detail. The waffle-design stitching of the SLR leather floor is especially elaborate and it alone uses 7,800 meters of the finest thread.
And now, its price: 600.000 € for this modified Brabus SLR with its shipping everywhere in the world of course. So it’s time to save some Money.
