
Ten months after the world premiere of the model XK successor, Jaguar presents its the most efficient version with traditional additive sign „R“, as „Racing“ which from the performance point of view symbolically crowns an offer in the prestige model programme of a trademark.
The reliable visual diferentiation of the version XKR from „civil“ conversion is just the question of the precise designer´s details which despite of the pure sport charakter do not invade amazing lines of initial XK coupe at all. The typical example is an aluminium string of an air input on the body front end which is the typical feature of the „sharp“ versions of Jaguar. The model´s performance exceptionality is demostrated also by the bleeder holes on the engine´s bonnet.
In the back parts, there was added a subtle moulding on the lower edge of an integral bumper which creates a space for tetrad exhaust endings. The proof of the carefull designer´s approach are also the black painted brake capilers with the logo „R“. In the case of the new XKR, under the term of „standard tyres“ is understood the 19-inches doped disks of „Jupiter“ wheels with the tyres in dimensions 245/40 R 19 in the front and 275/35 R 19 in the back.

It is possible to refine a clear Jaguar breeding by 20-inches wheels in „Cremona“ design, booted to tyres 255/35 R 20 in the front and 285/30 R 20 on the back-axle.
It is a 4.2 litres 8-cylinder forked construction with the anglular dimension of cylinders 90°, turbocharged by mechanic compressor what is the source of the power of momentarily the most efficient Jaguar. Turbo compressor Eaton (system Roots), placed between the cylinder rows, is driven straightaway from the crankshaft through the ribbed belt. The constant drive of a compressor is insured by counterbalanced charge pressure, so the engine spontaneously reacts in the spectrum versatile of evolves. The high effectiveness of turbocharging is moreover supported by the two fluid coolers of compressive air. At 6250 rpm the unit generates the output 306 kW (416hp), the torque is in the top at 560 Nm on the level 4 000/min-1. Coupe XKR accelerates on the 100km/h at 5.2s with 6-speed automatic gearbox, what is less in 1 second in comparison with non-turbocharged XK. The maximal speed is electronically limited on 250km/h.
Jaguar XKR is except of the traditional coupe going to be manufactured also in the open „Convertible“ version. Cabriolet which is in 50kg heavier, with slightly worse aerodynamic coeficient (0,341 coupe – 0,359 convertible) needs for acceleration from 0 to 100km/h about tenth longer time (5,3s), in comparison with coupe. The limited maximal speed but stays the same at 250 km/h.
