New Nissan Skyline GT-R Proto is coming

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a new Nissan Skyline of marking Proto. Probably these words were used by Nissan to introduce its new model, a successor of very popular Nissan Skyline GT-R34 that was presented in 1999. This model is still favorite toy to play by tuners and its the holy grail for many fans, also thanks to the movie flick 2Fast2Furious.

So let’s talk few words about Nissan:

Nissan was founded in 1914 under the name DAT (three co-founders Den, Aoyama and Takeuchi). The name Nissan (Nihon Sanyo) is in use since 1932. Nissan was supplying the Japanese Army, for example with Nissan Patrol (1951). After Nissan‘s arrival to the European market, it took over the biggest Spanish car manufacturer Motor Iberia. In 1990, the first Primera car was made in Sunderland. Three years later, Micra - the smallest member of Nissan’s family and Car of the Year was introduced.

But I know that you’re reading this article not for Nissan’s history, so let’s begin!

New Nissan Skyline GT-R Proto:

The prototype was introduced not long ago at Tokyo Motor show. But don’t be happy now, it’s not in a stock production yet, but maybe this year we’ll finally meet this beauty live! But now, we need to only work with pictures and in information that Skyline’s manufacturer wants to keep close.

Exterior of Nissan Skyline GT-R Proto:

Nissan Skyline GT-R Proto
The Nissan Skyline GT-R Proto isn’t based on any of its predecessors so I think this will be the cause of its bigger success between fans. The car was introduced in silver color with many carbon parts. The carbon parts, such us front spoiler, side sills, rear spoiler and diffuser, air-intake openings and grills, A-posts or central part of wing.

The front bumper is connected with the front mask (with a famous GTR symbol on it) with many cut-outs used for an air intake to the cooler (central cut-out) and to the front brakes (side cut-outs). Off take of hot air is provided by openings at the rear of the front bumper. The central part of the rear bumper includes the diffuser to prevent from air turbulence behind the car. At he sides we can find two cut-outs with two Duplex exhaust tips.

The rear hood has a spoiler and the front has air shafts. The headlights match with the front part with its size, position and color. The backup lights are similar to R34, but these include 3D LED technology. Tinted Windows together with the carbon A-posts look homogeneous and create the sporty feeling of the car. Electron rims (darker) and low-profile tires can’t miss on this coupe.

The interior hasn’t been introduced to the public yet, so at thsi time we can only imagine what’s hidden inside.

Performance of Nissan Skyline GT-R Proto:

We know only scuttlebutts about the engine, but we expect 3.5 liter V6 engine or 4.5 V8 with more than 300kW (408hp).

So let’s see out and than run to the closest Nissan’s seller and buy this machine! Nissan GT-R Proto will be distributed worldwide (not like older Nissan Skylines) so it’s very possible that your new Skyline will be waiting next to your doors.
