Peugeot 406

1997 – France. This is the year when the production of the Peugeot 406 started. Designers had wanted to create a car that would be unique and arouse pleasant feelings in the hearts of enthusiasts. It was the right time to introduce something to the European market to compete new models such as Honda Civic.
This stallion had installed 2.0 or 3.0 liter engines. The second one was a V6 engine with 191hp (140kW). Its top speed was 235km/h and 100km/h took 7.9 seconds. Very nice performance values enough for a great sporting pleasure.
As it’s visible, this model didn’t become forgotten and there’s some nice surprise prepared for its owners. The surprise is a complete tuning bodykit.

PEUGEOT 406 TUNING

Pakfeifer is an Austrian company that is well known and active on the scene so I thin there’s no need to introduce these guys. It has a broad portfolio including also brands Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Mazda, Mercedes and Peugeot too. So the Peugeot’s model 406 is now their new-born.
It consists of front and rear bumper, inlet on the hood, side sills and sporting wing.
Everything starts with the front bumper. You can notice that it’s very similar to the bumper used in the case of Ferrari 360 Spider. So this bumper has a sporting design that extremely matches with the overall look of the car. It’s divided into three, quite big, openings filled with an aggressive black perforated sheet. Their mission is simple – air intake to the front disc brakes. Look from the front reveals something like a Japan style of these openings.
Design of the bumper fits to all lines and curves of the front part. We can’t forget about small elongated side openings also filled with the perforated sheet. Also these openings help to cool the front brakes. And of course they visually improve the look of the front bumper.

The bodykit is very well balanced and attractive to the tuning lovers. There’s a great feature – a massive inlet on the hood. The inlet is situated from the front screen to the Peugeot badge. It starts with a pair of elongated openings divided by a bar. They’re also filled with the perforated sheet. This modification boosts the aggressive image to the maximum.
Pakfeifer’s next modification in this pack includes side sills. They have no openings or cut-outs but their shape indicates some decent opening. They’re finished with something that looks like a tail and it’s connected to the rear bumper. Once again it fits with other nice parts of the bodykit.
The rear part has a new rear bumper. It’s clearly visible that the creators found their inspiration in the 360 Spider again. A theory that some parts of different manufacturers can be used on different models is proved again.
Maybe I said this many times in this review, but the bumper matches perfectly and improves this masterpiece. On its sides we can find two bigger openings filled with the perforated sheet.

In the middle there’s a concave part looking exactly as on the Ferrari. Hot air from the rear brakes is flowing through the narrow elongated openings on the sides. This bumper is a great piece of art from the Pakfeifer’s workshop.
The last feature of the modification is a rear sporting wing. It’s made in more decent style but the overall aggressive look remains intact. It’s a highlight of this stylish, but especially aggressive modification of one of the most beautiful coupes.
