Volkswagen EOS modified by ABT Sportsline

The words summer and car are inseparable connected to word convertible. Roofless cars, that are designed for the best pleasure of driving in summer heat. Wind blows in your hair and you enjoy the best of your drive. In these days, many convertibles with various design can be seen cruising our roads. Tuning companies are here for us to change either the performance or look of stock cars, including convertibles. We have been persuaded plenty of times, that there is no need for extreme body kits or huge disc to make a car look great and vulturous. Make it in a decent way will suffice, and the results will be visible. However, you have to know how to do it. No doubt that people in German tuning company ABT Sportsline know very well what is this all about. We introduce to you its newest project – VW Eos.

Year 2005, Frankfurt. Right here it was, when the new member of Volkswagen family was born – sporting convertible named Volkswagen Eos. Roadster with hard-top – that’s what the majority of roadster fans is looking for. VW made a good choice. In VW, they knew, that in these days tuning mania prevails, therefore they were very particular about design of this Volkswagen. Discs, front mask, lines of bodywork. These are true signs, that this is real stylish roadster with sporting design elements. If you want to get flashy in summer, make sure you choose right this one.

VW prepared for this cabriolet 3 engines. The most powerful of them is V6 with volume 3.2 liter and power of 250 hp (184 kW)! That’s really worth mentioning. The gear control is managed by 6 speed DSG transmission. VW can be proud of this configuration.

Even in base package, there is back lights with LED technology, 17 inch discs LE MANS, leather 3-arm steering wheel, sporting seats, etc.

Already by first look at this car you have to be sure, that ABT Sportsline made it in a decent and at the same time predacious way. They were aware of what kind of style is used by this car and because of that, they wanted to preserve its curves and lines.

They embarked upon front part really easily – stock bumper was kept at the place and only a new bottom spoiler was added. It is shaped to identically copy the curves of the front bumper and to look sportingly at the same time. It contains three longish openings filled with black expanded metal. which act as decor and also feed the engine parts and brakes of the car with air. Not a striking change, but it was confirmed again, that extreme parts are not inevitable to reach aggressive look And I think, that this kind of conversion is very suitable for this car.

Side sills are next. They do not contain any openings, nevertheless they are shaped with a solid amount of precision, which makes this car unique.

Rear bumper, as well as the front was complemented with new bottom spoiler ABT. In the middle, there is an opening, also filled with black expanded metal, which is used primarily as decor.

On both sides of it, proudly tower two pairs of round fishtails with 76 mm diameter. On the top that, the logo of tuner is inscribed on their surface. Back part is “decorated“ with decent sporting wing. Also a moderate but showy change.

The performance aspect of this car was also affected – by sporting chassis, shock absorbers and springs ABT, which lowered the car by pleasant 35 mm. The discs are unthinkable connected with this. ABT equipped this car with 5-spoke discs of 18 or 19 inches, according to customer‘s request.

Also chiptuning of the engine may be an attraction. More concretely, stock 2-litre turbo FSI with 200 hp (147 kW) is concerned. This can be reach (after doping of ATB) respectable 240 hp (177 kW) or 270 hp (199 kW), according to wish of customer again.
